Welcome back
Welcome back. We hope you enjoyed your summer holidays and a warm welcome to all our new starters.
Topic for Term 1
Our topic for this term is ‘Welcome to our group / all about me’. Please see planning sheet on the Welcome board for more information.
Homeboard
Just a reminder and to inform new parents that we have a homeboard for the children to display photographs of families / pets / holidays / special memories etc. The children love sharing the photographs with the group at Show & Tell sessions.
Welly weather
May we remind you to send named wellies and raincoats/waterproofs in with your child. We aim to have outside play twice a day in all weathers.
Session numbers
This term we have small groups at each session as a large proportion of our children moved onto school in September. Numbers will increase throughout the year as we have several children booked to start later in the Autumn and after Christmas, but meanwhile these quieter sessions allow the keyworkers to settle new children and work in small & one-to-one groups. Therefore, if there are any particular areas you would like your child’s keyworker to work on please have a chat with them.
Parental involvement
Any parents wishing to come in and help or just spend time at Magic Box are most welcome. The children really enjoy having visitors to Magic Box and in the past we have had parents come in and read a story or lead a craft activity with the children. Please let Carol or Amanda know if you would like to join us.

Just a reminder to sign your child in and out on the parents register, thank you.
Harvest Festival
We are hoping to walk down to Wellow Church on September 26th. We welcome donations of tins or dried goods to donate. Thank you.
Magic Box committee
Magic Box is run by a committee which consists of parents whose children attend Magic Box. We usually meet about 6 times a year and it’s a social and fun way of getting to know other parents and have a greater involvement in the way that Magic Box is run.
We are always keen for new members to join the committee. If you think you may be interested in joining and would like further information on the roles that are available (or even if you don’t want a role – several parents are committee members without a specific role, but still get a say in how Magic Box is run) please speak to Fenella Maggs (current Chairperson) or one of the other committee members – details on the board on the right as you enter Magic Box.
